Sunset Park is a popular community in the borough of Brooklyn in New York and is home to about 150,000 residents. It offers a diverse population, a variety of restaurants and shops, good schools and streets lined with quaint row houses.

There are about 10 different public schools and a handful of private schools, including Sunset Park Prep School, Our Lady of Perpetual Help School, St. Agatha School, St. Michael School, Tomer Dvora School and Al Noor School. Sunset Park High School is a new facility that just opened its doors in 2009 and accommodates 1500 students. It offers three distinct learning communities, Visual and Performing Arts, Business and Entrepreneurship, and Health and Human Services. SPHS is located on Fourth Avenue between 34th and 35th streets in Sunset Park. Some of the school's features include wireless library media and technology center, state-of-the-art science laboratories, a full competition gymnasium, art and dance studios, and a 550-seat auditorium.
Sunset Park High School also offers daily after-school and extended-year programs, extra-curricular activities including competitive and intramural sports teams for girls and boys; dance; school newspaper; drama; visual arts; student government, and more. Early college courses are offered beginning in 10th grade, helping to prepare students for higher education.
Touro College has a campus in Sunset Park and offers a variety of programs of study. Students can pursue degrees in Business Management and Administration (Accounting, Finance, Office Technology, Marketing) and Computer Science (Information Systems, Desktop and Web Publishing), and Human Services (Addiction Counseling, Adult and Family Counseling, Child and Youth Administration, Gerontological Services, Developmental Disabilities, and Human Services Administration). Touro College also offers an education program for aspiring teachers.
